Needs polishing...

Hey frozensheep, nice to see you finished it up. It was pretty good, but lots of things wrong.

BAD:
- The animation wasn't fluid - too choppy - and it had too much tweening.
- The sound quality was too low.
- The use of traced bitmaps was bad
- Some scenes were much better than others.
- Bad back button at the end / ending screen

GOOD:
- Some animation was par
- Funny stuff
- Pretty good length

Good job, but could be better.

FrozenSheep responds:

thanks for the tip about the back button.

Wow!

I've seen that done before with stickmen but this is totally innovative! That was great! Such a good idea, and I havn't really ever seen anything like it!

Wee! That was cool!

Greyfox999 responds:

Thanks a lot :)

Dude...

If you didn't make it don't submit it! That means it is stolen.

sheffgb responds:

no, not stolen, he was there when i put it on and i had full permission from it.

WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?

That wasn't right.

Tracing weapons isn't okay. Just tracing everything shows no artistic talent, and makes for very, very bad movies / games.

Teaching people to trace is like teaching people to steal and should not be in a tutorial.

Darkblazer responds:

i guess, i'm just trying to stop people from drawing crap weapons like i have seen in so many movies before

That sure was original...

...I have never seen anything like it! Truely genious...

You used a total of two colours - black and white. Very well thought out.

You animated a 'fbf' movie using a low fps (12?).

You submitted a crappy entry that was only worked on for a laughable 6 hours.

Your entry was disgracful - 'fbf advanced'. Wtf is that?! FBF isn't just some meaningless paintbrush strokes on a white canvas. No. FBF is oldschool animation. Watch some Buggs Bunny, thats FBF. You create a character, write a story, and animate such movements as opening a door by drawing the first and last frames and filling in the inbetweens.

That is just terrible. Do not ever submit anything similar to that ever again.

Winadollar responds:

Nice Sarcasm In the Beggining...

I think...

and I will remmeber to do better...

Mouthing!!

Wonchop, Wonchop, Wonchop... don't be lazy. Do propor lip sync. It would make it so much better.

Also, though hard to animate, at least make an attempt to show the fight insteas of a white screen with text. I know its supposed to be funny but hell, a fight scene'd be much funnier - worth the Hard Work!

Also, it may be your style but i'd say stay away from pictures - like photos - and also get a lil better range of movement.

Wonchop responds:

Like I said, I had 2 days to do this. Plus my computer was being stupid.
This was just some silly thing for my friends birthday. Proper lip sync is probably best saved for the longer stuff.

Review by Stevie -

This movie really dissapointed me. The graphics style was amazing, just amazing, but what plummeted your score was the fact that it small slow-paced, boring, with little humour.

Graphics (9): Great, just great. It was amazing, but it seemed to be the only thing that was acually good.

Style (7): Probably should be a 6, but since the graphics were SO good I had to do it. I found the lack of colour, length and overall flow to be down-right adverage.

Sound (5): Ugh, this dissapointed me. If you had some good voice actors, not some humorless chums, this'd be better. The cell-phone music and quality was good, but it was SO BORING! Get some younger voice actors to lighten it up, or get a better writer.

Voilence (5): Very little, not like it really is that important. To be honest, violence is more of a Newgrounds-type rating, because lots of people enjoy it. I do, but it is not an important category. Anyway, it was okay.

Interactivity (n/a): This I didn't rate, because it was not a game, and it had very little interactivity.

Humor (1): This, and sound could improve, as well as maybe some interactivity (but that is optional). Pf, this was just crap. Humor is important, if you are TRYING TO MAKE A FUNNY MOVIE! It was the opposite of humor, and that killed your mark.

Overall, do not be dissapointed. I will never forget the graphics quality of this feature, because it was awesome! You lacked in other areas... no big deal.

Also, I would really appreciate a respond, please!

Sykohyko responds:

Hey thanks for the critique. I appreicatte that kind of review over the kind that just bash the work. I will definitly work on improving my weaknesses in the future. I feel like we've improved with every short and we plan to keep moving on like that.

It needs a lot of improvement.

The main problem was, pretty much everything. Some problem were:

1) No voices, just over-used sounds.
2) No storyline.
3) Too simple sprite animation.
4) Boring.
5) The sprites didn't fit in with the overall feel.

This animation needs a lot of major improvement, and you need to spend a lot more time on it.

DariusR responds:

Dude...it was really supposed to be a sig...

Too dramatic.

Seriously, this was way too dramatic. It was also a bit too, 'multi-styled' for my liking. There was one well drawn character, and one pile of circles. For some reason, this guy was trained by some kung-fu guy for the reason of 'protecting the ones he cares for'... where's the story line? There should've been some short skit or something about why the guy was killed or why the other guy's family was in danger.

Also, the tween-style animation was just a bit sub-par. The guy's walking was terrible, and the other guy was just too simple.

Basically, the movie had many story gaps, and a bit of lazy animation. Otherwise, I think it is worthy of a 5 (though I probably should've given you a 5).

Spookey-Mulder responds:

You're totally right. I'm a lazy ass that wants to animate. but one thing you're wrong about is the style thing and the story gap thing.

1st there is a prequal to this one

2nd the style is meant to be too dramatic

but thanks for the review

it is sub par in my opinion

Well, aint that the dickens!
